Customiser makes this page. Customiser is one of the 6 tools discussed here, and we have an obvious interest in how it compares. We built this page anyway because contract manufacturers asked us how we stack up, and a page that only ever compares tools it did not make would tell you less, not more.

Every fact stated about another company's product is drawn from that company's own current public documentation (its website, help centre or product pages) and carries a source link and the date we captured it. We did not sign into, test or reverse engineer any competitor's software to write this. Where a capability is marked "Not confirmed", that means we could not find public documentation of it as of the capture date, not that the tool cannot do it.

How to use this list

Each review below states the tool's lane before anything else. Two tools in different lanes are not really competing for the same job, so start by matching your own situation to a lane rather than reading top to bottom by rank.

The document input matrix below lists what each tool's own public documentation confirms it reads. "Not confirmed" means we could not verify that capability publicly as of the capture date, not that the tool cannot do it.

This is a short list on purpose. We only include a tool once we have read its own documentation closely enough to source every claim we make about it, so six tools are compared here rather than a long roll-call. None of them have a price attached in this guide; get current pricing directly from each vendor.

Customiser: AI RFQ-reading & estimating

Customiser is our own product and makes this comparison guide.

Customiser reads the RFQ package as it actually arrives, 2D drawings and specification documents rather than 3D models, builds the bill of materials from what the drawings state, and prices it with your own rates, margins and history. It carries no cost models of its own.

Builds the bill of materials from the technical drawing itself, so an RFQ that arrives without a client BOM still becomes a line-by-line priced quote.

Customiser carries no cost models of its own. It applies the shop's own rates, margins and history with similar parts to what it reads from the RFQ. Customiser is deliberately narrow: it reads 2D drawings and specification documents, builds the BOM and prices it. It does not process 3D CAD or solid model geometry, and it does not include should-cost simulation, cut-time nesting optimisation the way a dedicated fabrication-quoting tool does, or full shop-floor ERP functions like scheduling and job costing.

Mavlon: AI RFQ-reading & estimating

Mavlon reads 2D drawings, specification documents and the RFQ email thread into a structured requirement record, then applies the shop's own rates. It carries no cost models of its own by design.

Kwantflow turns RFQ emails, drawings, CAD files, BOMs and spreadsheets into reviewed quote drafts inside a local, offline-capable desktop workspace.

Its local-first workspace keeps drawings, source files and margin data off third-party cloud servers by default.

AI drafts structured line items from BOMs, drawings and specs, built from the shop's own material, labour, nesting and subcontract rate tables. Its own site documents CAD files, drawings, BOMs, spreadsheets and RFQ emails as inputs, but does not specifically name scanned or raster image formats, DXF, or points-list/single-line-diagram support.

Paperless Parts: Geometry-driven CAD quoting

Paperless Parts is a quoting and collaboration platform that prices uploaded CAD and print files with a shop's configured process rates.

Centralizes RFQs and can create quotes directly from forwarded RFQ emails with the associated files attached.

Costing automation analyzes uploaded part geometry, and pricing is applied through the shop's own configured operations, pricing items, add-ons and discounts. Its own documentation states only single CAD bodies can be interrogated; assembly parts referencing multiple CAD bodies are not interrogated.

ECI JobBOSS²: ERP-embedded estimating

JobBOSS² is a job-shop ERP for make-to-order and custom metal manufacturers, with a quoting module built from routings and rates inside the same system as orders and scheduling.

Quoting includes cost tracking, approvals and direct conversion to sales and work orders.

Estimates use pre-set rates covering burden, labor, quantity breaks, setup, run/cycle time, outside services and sales commission, or markup/profit percentages. The pages reviewed do not document direct RFQ inbox or forwarded-email ingestion.

Global Shop Solutions: ERP-embedded estimating

Global Shop Solutions is manufacturing ERP spanning quote to cash, with an estimating and quoting module built on single-level and BOM estimate/routers.

Estimate-versus-actual variance visibility, with sales orders created directly from won quotes.

Tracks true costs and can generate quotes from single-level and BOM estimate/routers. The CAD Interface names CAD-system integrations without specifying supported file formats.
